Weeks ago I promised to share with you all of the party decor for the "ladies night" I had for my best friend Kate the night before her wedding. I wanted her to feel as special as she is, so all of the ladies in her life got together for a simple party to celebrate our friendship with the amazing bride. I kept it very simple, creating the decorations from things I found all over my house. When organizing for a party I start by creating a big picture look; my idea for this particular party was rustic and chic, I was able to achieve that by using muted colors and integrating scrapbook paper, burlap, twine and fabric (all things I found within my house). The emphasis I wanted to make with this party is that it doesn't take a lot of money to make a party special, if you're willing to scrounge around your house to find supplies and most of all get creative! Let's take a look!
Personalized Name Tag:
Every bride-to-be must have her own name tag! I created this blossoming fabric flower out of scraps of fabric I found in my "craft corner." Instead of the traditional closed off fabric flower I decided to have the flower blossom out of the top. In a future post I will show you step by step instructions on fabric flowers, but if you Google this item you will see just how easy it is!
Homemade Banner:
A must have for every party is a personalized banner. I created this banner from a shopping bag that I recently got from my most favorite coffee shop (reduce, reuse, recycle). I added basic blue scrapbook squares and I used white paint to write "Congrats Kate."
Homemade Tablecloth:
Now this idea I am proud to say I came up with on my own. I wanted to have a matching tablecloth, but I didn't like anything I saw in the store, so where there's a will there is a way. I took an assortment of scrapbook paper from my "craft corner" collection, I connected the pieces together simply by using scotch tape (only on the backside) and then I mod podged the entire surface. I used the mod podge to give the surface a glossy finish.
Gift Wrap:
I wanted to incorporate this cream burlap that I found in my "craft corner," so I used it to gift wrap Kate's special present.
Candy Jars:
I also used the burlap to decorate these canning jars. You gotta love the amazing wonders of the hot glue gun, it and super glue are my crafting best friends! I used these little jars as candy dishes for the big night!
"THE FINAL LOOK"
(Below I have several pictures of the entire look put all together, I hope you like!)
All set up and ready for the party! Candy dishes full, napkins rolled, kettle corn made! One of Kate and I's favorite treats is homemade kettle corn, so I made a large batch and bagged them in white bags, some are just simply wrapped with twine and the others are personalized with the couples initials.
It was a wonderful evening and a wonderful celebration with friends and family for our amazing friend and sister! We love you Kate!
I hope you like! Have a super crafty day!
Boo
