Unique Details

I am a firm believer that every occasion should be a special occasion.  So, when a friend and colleague of mine invited me "bridesmaid" dress shopping with her wedding party and family (some of who had flown in for the occasion) I was determined to make it a moment she could cherish.  I had to get my creative juices flowing as I only had three days to plan, so I ripped through my secret supply closet, determined a budget, brainstormed ideas and browsed Pinterest to find projects I could do with the supplies I had on hand.

Of course, just in the nick of time it all came together...I decided since we were meeting mid-morning and she was providing light appetizers to create a vintage mimosa bar using details that she would be incorporating on her wedding day.

Have fun and take a look!

Supplies

I had one small sheet of cream felt left over from a recent project, so I decided to create mini flowers.  I wasn't sure how I would incorporate them, but when I found my mini close pins an idea popped into my head and I knew just what to do.  I decided with those two pieces to create small personalized name tags. I knew Kayla was incorporating mason jars into her wedding, so I used small jelly jars I had on hand in lieu of mason jar for our drinkware to add that rustic charm. I also had on hand a few decorative pieces; my grandmother's doilies, antique trays, a brown vase with a mix of wintry faux flowers and a lantern mason jar.  I purchased one of my fav champagnes and was left contemplating what container to place the orange juice in while still keeping with the style and low budget.  Lo and behold I had a recycled wine bottle that I decided to use with a chalkboard decal to add a personal touch.

Personalized Name Tags

I used the felt flowers, close pins and card stock to create personalized name tags for the ladies attending.

L.A. Adventure

L.A. was grand!

While it was a short trip, it was amazingly sweet in so many ways!  Never in my life could I have ever imagined winning a contest of this magnitude and the opportunity to meet someone who's career I follow and who I respect and love.
This adventure is one I will cherish forever!

One week ago I had the amazing opportunity to fly to Los Angeles and receive a hair cut and color by celebrity hairstylist Kristin Ess of The Beauty Department.  No words can describe the gratitude I feel right now!  I am so grateful to the Restorsea team and Kristin Ess for their wonderful generosity, their kindness and for making this possible!  I had the time of my life getting to experience their world of all things beauty and I am over the moon excited with my new hairdo!

Well friends, have fun and take a look!

"The Lovely Kristin Ess"

I swear we were separated at birth.  It was so wonderful to meet the lovely Kristin Ess!  Not only were we wearing the same outfit (seriously we did not plan this), we had so many random things in common, from places we've lived to family and fashion.  She is such a beautiful person and I feel very fortunate to have spent time with her!

Kristin was sweet enough to sign my personal copy of Lauren Conrad's "Beauty" book as well as give me a copy signed by Lauren Conrad herself!  As if that wasn't enough, Kristin Ess posted a picture of us on her Instagram and Lauren Conrad commented! I have to admit I turned into a little girl, screaming with excitement.

I also had the great pleasure of meeting the CEO of Restorsea, Patti Pao.  She was so kind and hilarious and she made this whole excursion possible!

What an amazing beauty experience!  This adventure is one I will cherish and share for the rest of my life....

Feeling blessed!

I hope you like!
