DIY Vanilla Bean Sugar

This is amazingly simple and very delicious! After visiting my sister-in-law in California and putting her homemade vanilla bean sugar in my coffee every morning, I decided to recreate her idea into a gift for friends.  Easy, simple and wonderfully yummy. Take a look...

Materials You Will Need:
*Raw Sugar
*Vanilla Beans
*Burlap
*Mason Jars
*Card Stock
*Twine
*Hot Glue Gun

Vanilla Bean Sugar Recipe:
You can look up many different recipes for the sugar, but I simply slit the vanilla bean down the center, scrapped out the insides and placed the shell in the mason jar with the sugar.
(Don't forget to save the insides of the vanilla bean for other delicious recipes)

Now check out the decorating...

Cut your burlap (you can use any color) into strips long enough to fit around the mason jar.  I then wrapped the burlap around the jar and used a hot glue gun to keep the burlap in place.

I chose a patterned and plain card stock for my sugar labels.  I cut the pattered card stock into squares, glued them on the plain card stock and then cut the larger squares out.

Here are the finished squares after they have been cut out.

I then punched a hole in every label and cut pieces of twine that would fit around the middle of the mason jar and allowed room to tie a bow.

A simple written label.

Here is the finished product!
Very simple and very delicious!
