I am a firm believer that every occasion should be a special occasion. So, when a friend and colleague of mine invited me "bridesmaid" dress shopping with her wedding party and family (some of who had flown in for the occasion) I was determined to make it a moment she could cherish. I had to get my creative juices flowing as I only had three days to plan, so I ripped through my secret supply closet, determined a budget, brainstormed ideas and browsed Pinterest to find projects I could do with the supplies I had on hand.
Of course, just in the nick of time it all came together...I decided since we were meeting mid-morning and she was providing light
appetizers to create a vintage mimosa bar using details that she would
be incorporating on her wedding day.
Have fun and take a look!
Supplies
I had one small sheet of cream felt left over from a recent project, so I decided to create mini flowers. I wasn't sure how I would incorporate them, but when I found my mini close pins an idea popped into my head and I knew just what to do. I decided with those two pieces to create small personalized name tags. I knew Kayla was incorporating mason jars into her wedding, so I used small jelly jars I had on hand in lieu of mason jar for our drinkware to add that rustic charm. I also had on hand a few decorative pieces; my grandmother's doilies, antique trays, a brown vase with a mix of wintry faux flowers and a lantern mason jar. I purchased one of my fav champagnes and was left contemplating what container to place the orange juice in while still keeping with the style and low budget. Lo and behold I had a recycled wine bottle that I decided to use with a chalkboard decal to add a personal touch.
